Adventures in Dining

Enjoy gourmet cuisine at Asheville's best locally-owned restaurants with ANF friends at dinner time. We choose restaurants recommended by our members where locally grown fresh vegetables and meat products are served by the best chefs in Asheville.

 

Our June adventure will be June 17th at 5:30 p.m. at Cecilia's, 870 Merrimon Avenue, with both Argentine and French influences.

Movie Group
The Movie Group meets monthly to see a movie and discuss it afterwards at a convenient coffee shop.
 
Viewing will resume in the fall.  
 

Asheville Symphony

Members of Asheville New Friends are eligible for reduced rates (15%) for subscriptions for the full seven-concert season of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra beginning each September. Book Clubs


The Afternoon Book Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1:30pm via ZOOM. Books to be read are recommended by members. Suzanne Lunsford is the leader and she can be reached at (561) 568-1698 or SuzanneLunsford@bellsouth.net

Investment Club

Get together with us to learn and talk about stocks. We gather once a month (except in the summer) for lunch and discussion. The next meeting is scheduled for September 17.

Bowling Group

Bowling is suspended for the summer.

 

Special Events

Several times each year Asheville New Friends organizes special events which are announced in The Friendly Courier. Examples include dinners with entertainment, day trips to places like Lake Lure, a trip to the Tryon Equestrian Center, Asheville Tourists baseball,  and many others.  

A visit to Charlotte NC to visit the  Immersive Van Gogh exhibit is planned for August 30, or September 7. This is a members only event. There is more about it here.
