Asheville New Friends (ANF) is a non-profit organization which has served Asheville and Western North Carolina for 40 years. The principle purpose of ANF is to offer active senior residents of the Asheville area opportunities to make new friends and to explore new interests through a program of varied social, cultural, and outdoor activities. We invite singles and couples who wish to broaden their horizons in our mountain home to join our vibrant, stimulating and active organization. We especially welcome new residents and offer them the opportunity to learn about all our area has to offer and to form enduring friendships. Tour local neighborhoods and parks, and hike on nearby trails. Dine at local restaurants. Visit such attractions as the North Carolina Arboretum, the Biltmore Estate, the Botanical Gardens, and the Carl Sandburg Home. Attend the Asheville Symphony and Asheville Tourists baseball games.
Asheville New Friends is operated entirely by volunteers. Scheduled activities are conducted by Special Interest Groups (SIGs), listed in the drop-down menus above. Special events may also be scheduled. Memberships are $13 for singles and $26 for couples, renewable annually. There is a discount in 2020 because activities have been curtailed by COVID-19. See here for details.
Prospective members may participate in two events before joining, by contacting the appropriate SIG chairperson.
